Paintings from 2023

I painted this at the Elgin County Railway Museum, to depict Kettle Creek valley

behind the MCR railway bridge in the foreground & the C&O bridge in behind

Off to a slow start for commissions. I finished this one on April 29th. Her name was Blueberry, and she's waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

Painted this for Angie. It's her pal, Stella- what a lot of hair you have, Stella! Finished this one on May 21st.

Then, my cousins wanted a painting of 2 pugs for one of their friends. This is Memphis & Diesel and

they’re both part bulldog, and beagle. But one also has pug and one has Boston terrier mixed.

Finished this one on Sept 20th.

Next, I have included some in progress photos, showing the steps of my

painting style/technique, from start to finish

First day, painted a bit of blue for the sky, and placing some trees to see if the perspective would be right

Next step was to block in some of the ground cover- no details yet

Next I start adding some texture to the trunks, added a bunch more trees & details to tree tops

& ground cover and the beginnings of the red leaves

This shows some of the heavy texture that I applied, and of course, it's real close up.

Once hung, and viewed from a distance, it looks better

See what I mean? Anyway, there you go, if you ever wondered how I painted what I paint.

The original photo follows, and I always say, I'm an artist not a camera! Ha Ha

Finished this one on Nov 1st.

So that is probably it for 2023- a slow year after how many I have pointed in the past few years.

Next year, I may just paint some railway themed ones, and see if I can sell them, but we'll see.
