Paintings from 2022

I repainted the clouds and water on a 2021 painting, called Deep Freeze. Not sure that I can call it a 'real' 2022 painting tho.

I tried painting more clouds. Still not quite there. Now I am going to try to paint from a photo- see below- starting it on Jan 13th

It will be a bit of a challenge!

  Here's the start

Here's my first attempt- I like the wheat field, but Meh on the clouds.

I redid the clouds- maybe a wee bit better?

And another practice piece- starting to look better, I think

Painted this one, below, on an 18x24" canvas panel, for Pat & Brian. I call it the calm before the storm- based on a photo of Hollywood Beach, Florida.

And now for something totally different- A train! Finished Mar 25th This is acrylic on a 9x12" stretched canvas- A 2-8-2 NYC Mikado. Sold to an old friend from Clark Equip days!

And if that wasn't enough, I just had to paint an NYC Hudson 4-6-4 crossing the MCR bridge while coming from Windsor- It's kind of striking, and it's still for sale- Acylic on 16x20" stretched canvas

Finished about Apr 15th- here it is matted for a 16x20" frame- this is a print that you can buy for $47.00

And now, April 17th, started a painting of 2 Australian Cattle dogs- This was a commission, and I think that it turned out well, but you be the judge. Finished on April 27th

Back to railway themed painting, this one for my son. It's the C&O roundhouse in St Thomas circa 1980? Difficult but kind of fun to paint- A lot harder than I first thought though.

I'm an artist, not a camera. That is my standard disclaimer to all my clients. Speaking of which, I just delivered another painting to a Facebook friend who had liked the roundhouse painting that I did for my son, and wanted one to give to his dad, who had worked on the C&O for 42 years and retired as an engineer. The diesel in stall #6 is the same cab number as one of the ones that he hogged. How cool is that?

Back to a pet painting. This is my granddaughters' cat, and Olive wanted me to paint Mango. He's a gorgeous looking cat, isn't he?

  What a fluffy guy!

The start on July 19th- have to paint the eyes first so he can talk to me! LOL

  Progress on July 23rd

And finished on July 23rd- one of the quickest & easiest paintings I've ever done!

Another cat(s) painting, this one with a twist- the client wanted them in their outfits. I was happy to oblige. However, white animals are as hard to paint as black ones! Jax in his tropical shirt & Jemma in her pink dress.

And now, another painting of the Wild Wonder  Cat, MANGO! This one for Ashlynn.

My latest is a commission: Smushy She was a beautiful calico, who had passed. Thank you, Stacey

My one & only commission for Christmas- don't know why, maybe inflation. Anyway, this is Corey, and she is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for her Human. She was gorgeous!
